The painting was a hit. it was a gift for my nephews first birthday. i framed it with a poem that i wrote for him.

what a surprise, the 1st of november
we thought you'd arrive some time in december.
you certainly came before you were due.
i flew all the way from nyc so i could meet you!
6 lbs 9 ounces, a head full of hair.
when our eyes met, i couldn't help but stare.
you were so tiny we had to buy you new clothes.
premie pajamas, socks for your hands and socks for your
5 days went by and you still hadn't a name.
it soon turned into a fun family game.
we sat in the hospital all day and night.
you needed a special name that suit you just right.
you weren't a brodie, an austin, a lincoln or jake
so ?elcome home shmutzie?went on the cake.
every move you made a camera was flashing.
a sneeze or a yawn and we all went a dashing.
a week later, you had a full name.
with a zia like me you're bound for fame!
