o We draw the painting in our studio
o We take a picture of the finished painting and email you the proof
o You give us feedback and suggest changes
o We keep improving the painting until you approve it
o We ship the painting to you
What kind of work do you do?
o We are a group of artists who make paintings by hand from your photos. We draw a variety of subjects including people, pets, houses, cars, boats, landscapes, etc of many styles including oil, watercolor, color pencil, charcoal pencil, pastel, etc.
Why is a painting so special from the photo?
o A painting is a genuine piece of art work made by hand by a highly talented human artist, which is unique and not reproducible, so you have the only copy in the world. It has much more sentimental and collectible values and will oftentimes be passed to generations as a family heirloom. On the contrary, photos are generic and you can print another copy easily for just a few cents.
Why is the hand-made painting so special from printing photo onto canvas?
o There is nothing wrong with printing your photo onto canvas and it is much cheaper to make. But it is nothing more than an enlarged photo, easily reproducible with little human talents involved. A piece of hand-made art has the artist's superb craftsmanship and relentless pursuit of perfection distilled into it while a computer print just has the color ink sprayed onto it by an electronic device, producing the identical copy.
What can I use the painting for?
o It is the most unique and memorable gift for occasions such as
Christmas
Birthdays
Wedding anniversaries (1st year's theme is paper)
Remembrance of loved ones who passed away
Wedding
Baby shower
Mother's Day
Father's Day
Valentine's Day
Graduation
Retirement
o Many people make paintings for their own house and office decorations or simply as their art collection.
Where are you located?
o Our office is located on the east suburb of Seattle, Washington. We have a network of artists from across the nation and around the world. True talents have no borders and we seek them out wherever they are.
How much experience do your artists have?
o Most artists have decades of experience drawing paintings by hands. Most do specialize in particular styles and particular subjects, for example, watercolor dogs, oil paintings of kids, pencil sketches of houses, etc. Our job is to match the most qualified and experienced artist with the strength in the style and subject of your painting.
How do you protect my privacy?

Do you offer the lowest price I can find on the market?
o The short answer is No. We strive to offer the very best quality.
o Here is the (really) long answer. The price is determined
by the charging rate of the artist and the number of hours the
artist spent on your painting. There are two kinds of painting
firms. One kind is to put their efforts into making the paintings
as cheaply as possible by hiring inexperienced artists who obviously
cost less and spend as little time as possible on each painting.
They play a numbers game and make their number attractive. The
other kind is to maximize the quality as much as possible by
hiring the very best talents and allowing them spend as much
as time as necessary to make sure each painting is rendered
as perfectly as it can be. We are the latter kind. We wouldn't
be willing to present you the painting unless the artist who
made it would like to keep it himself. If the bare minimum cost
is of your primary concern, honestly you are in the wrong place.
But if you are looking for the very best artistic quality in
the world with the best price for that quality, your search
is over. You will get what you pay for. In fact, we are so confident
that you will be completely blown away by the result, that we
offer you a 100% no-string-attached money-back guarantee because
we know you will be amazed. In fact, if you feel you just like
the painting, but not love it, I would rather give you a full
refund as our apology to have disappointed you.
o The artwork is not a commodity that you can find the same
thing everywhere you look. Each painting is individually made
by a human artist. It is more of a professional service like
attorneys and doctors that highly depend on skills and dedication.
The more experienced they are and the more time they spend on
their clients, the higher the service will cost. More likely
than not, you will get what you pay for. You chose to make a
unique painting instead of developing a generic copy of your
photo because the painting must mean a lot to you and the art
work will last for decades and may pass onto generations as
a family heirloom. Therefore, you probably want to hire the
best to get it right.
o Some painting firms simple print the photo onto canvas, or
cover the printed photos with some paints, thus they do it at
a fraction of the cost of free-hand drawing. So when you see
a really low price, it is usually a red flag. If the customer
service is from a different country, it will be pretty risky
as well. Ask them to show you (not just tell you) how they really
make the painting by hand. Please watch our videos to see how
we do it.
http://yourartnow.com/youtube_video.php
How do you determine the price of different paintings?
o Style
Oil paintings are the most expensive and the charcoal sketches are the more affordable while others are in between.
o Size
The larger the size, the more time we need to spend, so the more costly.
o Number of subjects
We spend most of our time focusing on the main characters of the painting like the faces of people and pets.
How do you guarantee your work?
o Straight-forward. If you are not 100% happy with the painting for any reason, you can ask for a full refund. You are the sole judge on your satisfaction. You can return the painting even within 7 days of receiving the painting. Even though you don't need a reason, we do ask you to value our time and be serious about your decision.
o We are very confident in our skills to render the painting precisely as the photo shows. However, the painting can only be as good as the photo, since that is the only reference we have. So the most important homework for you is to find the best photos that represent the subject well, which means good lighting, clarity and probably features that compliment the subject. Our experienced art associates will consult you with your photos to make sure we are starting on the best foot. We will be able to make customization to enhance the photo. Send your photos to us today for a free assessment.

Do you really make your painting by hand?
o Free-hand drawing. One stroke at a time. The old traditional way. Watch our videos to check it out yourself.
http://yourartnow.com/youtube_video.php
How fast is the turnaround?
o Oil paintings take 1-2 weeks to draw, depending the size and complexity. Watercolor and pencil sketches take 3-5 days to draw. The policy of our order queue is "first come, first serve", so the average waiting time is about a week. If you would like the Expedition Service, there is no waiting and your painting will be started right away after ordering. Read more about [Expedition Service].
o The above turnaround is for regular seasons. Before Christmas, the turnaround will be longer since there are too many orders placed for the holiday. Sometime within a month to Christmas, there will be a cut-off date for orders requiring Christmas delivery.
Selection of Style, Size and Frames
What styles do you offer?
o Oil painting on canvas
Realism
Impressionism
o Watercolor
o Color pencil
Full color
Sepia tone
Pastel
o Black-and-white pencil
Fine pencil sketch
Charcoal sketch
When should I choose the oil painting?
o Oil paintings are very precise in details and work well with all kinds of photos, especially with human faces. It is more formal and impressive, best suitable for the prominent location above the fireplace, the house entrance or above the sofa in the living room or dining room.
o Pros
The rich colors resemble the real person or scene almost perfectly. The oil paints are mixed first, so any color is possible. Also the painting brush is very fine and once the paint falls on the canvas, it doesn't spread around. All these make it possible for very fine details to be vividly brought out.
Oil paintings use custom framing, so there are more choices and frames tend to be more impressive.
They last longer. All the European masterpieces like Mona Lisa last hundreds of years.
There is usually a big discount only for oil paintings like $100. So you will get a great deal to get the most upscale and impressive painting style.
o Cons
Oil paintings look so real that sometimes they look just like the enlarged photographs. When you stand closely, you still see the brush strokes and different layers of paints but when you step back, it looks so perfect that you might think that is a photo. However, we can add some impressionistic style in or make the brush strokes deliberately more pronounced. You need to request these special treatments.
They tend to be more expensive
Custom framing tends to be more expensive
They take longer to make and cost more to ship.
o Check out our oil portrait gallery
http://yourartnow.com/gallery_oil_painting_from_photo_1.php
When should I choose the watercolor?
o Watercolor is by nature more impressionistic. They have bigger blocks of colors, are rougher in details and thus look more like a hand-made piece of artwork. In fact, watercolor takes more skill to produce because unlikely oil paintings where you can cover mistakes by applying another layer of paints, watercolor has to be done in one sitting. Only top talents can produce them well.
o Pros
They look more artistic and impressionistic than oil paintings.
They render landscape, houses and especially water scenes superbly.
They render scenes with motion better
o Cons
They lack details by nature, so if you want a portrait, they tend to look better with the face close-up. Full figure watercolor portraits need to have a large size to ensure facial details.
o Check out our watercolor gallery http://yourartnow.com/gallery_watercolor_from_photo_1.php
When should I choose color pencil sketches?
o Color pencil sketches look more artistic in terms of all the pencil strokes shown as the details on the painting. They look more casual and fit the bedroom, study room and living room better. It is also a technique that requires very high level of skill because the artist has to render the superb color likeness using only 24 individual colors without the ability to mix them like the oil painting.
o Pros
They look more artistic and more like a hand-made sketched art with all the visible strokes
There are many variations of techniques, such as full color, sepia tone, pastel, etc
They yield a better detailing of hair with all the lines clearly added compared to watercolor which can only add rough feel of hair details.
Compared to the charcoal sketch, it can bring out all the color theme in the photo, so if you like pencil sketches but want the colors rather than the black-and-white theme, this is the best choice
o Cons
They tend to look with a lower level of details from oil paintings. But this is by nature due to the technique. Many people actually prefer the hand-made feel with rougher details.
The colors are not as full and smooth as oil painting or watercolor but they are by nature as well since there are only 24 separate colors to use.
o Check out our color pencil gallery
http://yourartnow.com/gallery_color_pencil_from_photo_1.php
When should I choose black-and-white pencil sketches?
o Black-and-white pencil sketches look very classic with the mono-color theme and visible pencil strokes. It is the best choice for a black-and-white photo. It is also the best choice if you have a tight budget.
o Pros
They look very classic, especially for a vintage black-and-white photograph
They cost significantly less than other painting styles, which makes it more affordable if you are on a tight budget.
It is the fastest to make. So if you are on a very urgent deadline, this can be done very quickly while you have to wait a couple of weeks for an oil painting to complete.
o Cons
They lack coloring, so all the colors on hair, eyes, clothes, background are all lost. If they are important, pencil sketch will not be a good choice.
Pencil sketches are made on paper, so they last shorter than oil painting. We apply protection coating on the surface to prolong their lives, so within a couple of decades, you wouldn't see a difference on the painting.
o Check out our black-and-white pencil gallery

Do you have a comparison of different styles based on the
same photo?
o Please check out the page below for Marilyn Monroe
http://yourartnow.com/Monroe_portrait.php
Do you offer any discount?
o We currently offer a $100 discount on oil paintings only.
What sizes do you have for oil paintings?
o 12x16 is the minimum size to fit up to 3 people. It is roughly the size of a 17" computer monitor and is quite small for the wall. It will not yield the ideal outcome unless your painting is about 1-2 shoulder-and-up faces. The main reason for this size is to keep the budget low.
o 16x20 is the next size up and one of the most popular sizes we offer. It is good for up to 5 people and can yield the best result for up to 3 people. It is a great choice for couple's wedding portraits or a family of three. It is a large enough size for the wall but still quite small for a prominent location like the fireplace.
o 20x24 is a very decent size for a portrait. It is large enough to be a prominent portrait of central focal point above the fireplace or the bed. It can yield ideal result for up to a family of 5. This is the size we would recommend if your financing is not a major concern.
o 24x36 offers a more impressive option than 20x24. It would make the painting into a museum size, making it ideal for the fireplace or house entrance. It can yield best result for any number of subjects up to 7. For single-person half-body portrait, it can come out at life-size.
o 36x48 is the largest size we usually offer. It is enormous. It is best for large landscapes, reproduction of classical masterpieces, a very large group of people up to 10, life-size full-body single portrait or life-size half-body portrait of a couple. One limitation for this size is that we not long can frame it for you due to the concern of shipping safety.
What sizes do you have for watercolors and pencil sketches?
o 8x10 is the minimum size of a pencil sketch, not watercolor. It is smaller than a magazine and is good for 1-2 people's face portrait. Its main benefit is to keep budget low. It is more for desk display than wall.
o 11x14 is the minimum size for watercolor and a decent size for pencil sketches. In fact, it offers a much better result from 8x10 with only a very minor price increase. This is our recommended size if you have a tight budget or the painting is about only a half-body single or couple portrait. It is still a little small for family portraits.
o 16x20 is a very decent size for family portraits up to 5 people. This size allows full level of details on the face. 11x14 and 16x20 are our most popular sizes.
o 20x24 is the most impressive size of non-oil paintings and the largest one we offer. It is the most popular size for watercolor since watercolor is more vague in details, so it requires a relatively larger size. It will be ideal for the fireplace showcase. Our framing option for this size will be significantly limited due to the shipping concern and selection.
What size should I choose for my painting?
o The size selection is essential for the painting quality. The general rule is that the larger the size, the more space the artist has to add details, thus the higher the likeness the painting will get. In addition, larger paintings look more impressive overall. Most samples we show on our web site are of the size either 16x20 or 20x24. Choosing a small size may significantly reduce the quality simply because there is not enough space to draw.
o Use the Size Guideline above using the number of subjects as a threshold for minimum size. If your subject has full-body pose, you probably need to choose a larger size given the basic guidelines with the number of subjects because the facial area will be relatively small in a full figure portrait. Please talk to your art associate about what size to choose especially when you are considering a small one.
Can you make a size in between those you offer?
o Yes. We can virtually make the painting any size you want. The price for custom size is the closest size covering roughly the same area. For example, a square size 30x30 will have the same price of a 24x36. Please talk to your art associate for such custom size.
Can you make an oversized painting?
o For oil paintings, the size can go up to 48x72. For watercolors and pencil sketches, the size can go up to 30x40. However, these are considered special projects and the price will be determined case by case, usually proportional to the total area. Please talk to your art associate for such custom oversize.
Can you make a very small painting?
o Yes, as long as the size is large enough to allow a reasonable amount of details to be revealed. For oil, we can make as small as 8x10. For watercolor, 8x10. For pencil sketches, 5x7. The subject is usually one face or some objects or a simple scene. The price is the same as our smallest size for each style, which refers to 12x16 for oil, 11x14 for watercolor and 8x10 for pencil sketches.
Do you frame the paintings?
o Yes, we frame all paintings except for 36x48 oil paintings due to shipping constraints. Check out our frame selections by clicking the link below.
http://yourartnow.com/framing.php
Why should I ask you to frame it instead of doing
it locally or myself?
o Professional work
Oil paintings need custom measuring, canvas stretching and cutting of moldings. It can be done by yourself if you had extensive experience. A bad framing job can ruin the painting.
If asked to frame it beforehand, our artist will have the framing margin space in mind when making the painting. In this way, the frame will come to fit the painting naturally and perfectly. Even though we will leave the margin for you to do it yourself, it may not fit perfectly and you may need to make adjustments that cost extra time and money.
o Convenience
If we frame the painting for you, it will arrive ready to hang, saving you time to go to the local framing store and to wait.
When you send the unframed painting as a gift, it will subject the gift recipient significant cost to frame it locally. Since oil paintings can not be displayed without being stretched onto a frame, many people receiving unframed paintings may procrastinate and even put the painting away not framed.
o Cost saving
Because we do not run a retail store front, we don't have the overhead cost. So usually our framing services cost only half of that from your local framing stores. This is especially true for custom framing of oil paintings. We encourage you to contact your local store to quote their price as a comparison to see how much you can save. Please add up their material cost, labor cost and sales tax. Our price includes all the above.
o Time saving
It costs us a few hours to frame it without delaying the shipping at all. Framing at a local store usually requires a reservation and can wait about a week for the work to complete.
How do I select the right frame?
o Color theme
Make sure the color of the frame fits the theme of your painting and doesn't distract it. Here are a few examples. If you have a black-and-white painting or a couple in wedding dresses, a black or silver frame will look better. If your painting has a very dark background, you want to avoid the black frame and pick a lighter color to make the boundaries clear. If the subject has blonde hair or the background is light beige, the golden frame will certainly come out ideal.
o Style preference
The patterns of the frame can be divided mainly into plain styling and sophisticated styling. Plain styling has simple patterns or no patterns while sophisticated styling has more fancy patterns on the frame.
o Current wall deco
The color of your wall, the setting of the room and the size of the open space will all contribute to your frame decision.
How to choose among the frames for oil paintings?
o Check out our frame options for oil paintings
http://yourartnow.com/framing.php
o Dark frames include simple styling ones like Sienna (dark cherry) and Antique (black). Royal is a wider and heavier frame offering a more elegant while still simple styling. Wallace offers more sophisticated styling with a very beautiful pattern.
o Golden frames are all very elegant and beautiful. Victoria has a more fancy style while Hampton has a more plain style. Kensington has a lighter color while Winchester has a darker color. Florence sits in the center in both color and styling and it is actually the most popular frame.
o We also offer more upscale frames like the platinum color Luxembourg and museum quality frame Versailles, etc.
How to choose among the frames for watercolors and pencils sketches?
o Check out our frame options for watercolor and pencil sketches
http://yourartnow.com/framing.php#frame
o Simple styles such as signature black and cherry work pretty well with black-and-white pencil sketches.
o Verona, Newport and Milano are the best choices for watercolor due to their muted and lighter colors.
o Sienna and Vintage Scroll are the most elegant frames you can find anywhere. They fit any painting well.
Can I decide the frame after the painting is done?
o Yes. You don't have to make a decision when you place the order. You can wait until the painting is completed to do so.
Can I decide the frame after the painting arrives?
o We do not recommend that because you will have to ship the painting back to us with significant extra shipping cost and long wait.
Do you do matting?
o Oil paintings don't have mat because they are stretched around the inner stretch bars. If there were anything that looks like mats, they are actually part of the frame styling.
o We do matting for watercolor and pencil sketches. The selection of matting will move the frame size to the next larger one. We use elegant double mats and will consult you with picking the best color.
How long will the framing take?
o A few hours. It will not delay the shipping at all.
Can I ask for advice on which style, size and frame are the best choice for my painting?
o Absolutely. Send us your photo and talk to our friendly art
associate to discuss your preference and thoughts. We will make
suggestions on style, size and frames.

o Yes, we use one of the most widely used ordering software platform that offers security and reliability.
Can you take my order over the phone?
o Yes. Please call 425-283-3907 to place your order with an art associate. Ordering online has the benefit of setting up an account, which makes it easier to monitor your order progress and update your contact info and shipping address.
Do you offer sizes other than those shown?
o Yes, we can make the painting of any size you need. For special sizes, the price is determined by the closest available size. Please discuss with our art associate first about which size to pick and then leave a comment on the order for the precise size you need.
How can I pick the right frame?
o See the discussions in the "Selection of Style, Size and Frames" section of the FAQ
Do I have to decide the frame on the order?
o No, you can make a decision after the painting is completed. Also you can change your frame and even cancel it as long as it hasn't been mounted on the painting yet.
What do you count as a subject?
o The main character of the painting that requires significant details. Insignificant object or simple background are not considered subjects and are free of charge to draw. Each painting has at least one subject.
What are some examples of subjects?
o Any face of people or pets
o A house with significant details

Where can I find coupons?

How do I input address outside of US?
o Our order system is most compatible with the US mailing system. For address outside of US, please input as much as possible and then email your full address to us, or leave a comment with your full address.
What is the Expedition Service?
o For 15% premium, you can dramatically accelerate the making of your painting, from 2 weeks to one week for oil paintings, and from 1-2 weeks to 3-5 days for watercolor and pencil sketches.
How can you make the painting process faster with the Expedition Service?
o There are two queues for orders placed. The regular queue is "first come, first serve". The average waiting period is a week. The expedited queue doesn't have waiting time and orders placed with the expedited queue will be assigned to artists within 24 hours and started immediately.
Will you cut corners for Expedition Service?
o Not a bit. In fact, the only thing that will be cut with the Expedition Service is the waiting period. We used exactly the same pool of artists and spend the same amount of time on each painting. In fact, artists have no idea whether each painting has Expedition Service or not. Only the system scheduling orders will differentiate regular vs. expedited orders.
What shipping options are available?
o Standard shipping goes through the first-class mail of the post office system. It takes a few weeks to delivery on average with no guarantee of timing and no tracking. You need to wait for 5 weeks to claim loss.
o Express shipping goes through the fastest way possible to get the painting to you. If available, overnight delivery will be used. Usually it takes no more than 3-5 days. Tracking is available for all express mails.
Which shipping method should I use?
o If reliability and urgency is a primary concern to you, you would feel comfortable with the express mail, especially when you have a particular event when you need to present the painting or during the busy holiday season like November and December.
o If there is no imminent event and you can tolerate minor unpredictable mailing and no tracking, standard mail will save money.
Which countries do you ship to?
o All countries with a mail delivery system.
Are there extra charges to ship to countries outside of US?
o There is no extra charge to ship to Canada, Australia, UK, and most large European and Asian countries.
o There might be small charges to ship to smaller countries. Sometimes only framed paintings have surcharges. Please ask your art associate for quotes if it will be shipped to countries other than US, UK, Canada and Australia.
What if my package is lost?
o We will remake the painting for you with no additional charge. But you need to wait long enough to claim loss and need to file certain forms if necessary for insurance claim purposes.
What is the typical turnaround time?
o For oil paintings, it usually takes 3-4 weeks from order to delivery plus extra time spent on working on photo process and painting revision if needed.
o For watercolor and pencil sketches, it usually takes 1-2 weeks to work on the painting and 2-3 weeks to ship it with standard shipping and 1-3 days with express shipping.
What is the quickest turnaround time?
o 7-10 days for oil paintings
o 2-3 days for watercolor and pencil sketches
What if I have a really urgent deadline?
o Select Expedition Service and Express Shipping to minimize the turnaround time. If your deadline is extremely urgent, talk to our art associate first to make sure the delivery time is feasible.
How can I apply gift certificates?
o On the page to input credit card information, there is a place to redeem your gift certificates. You need the coupon id and the last name of the person who purchased the certificate. If you don't know that, contact us directly.
How can I apply special coupon codes?
o On the page to input credit card information, there is a place to apply coupon codes. It is the same box of the gift certificates. Sometimes coupons may exclude each other and only one can be applied. Also each coupon can only be applied once.
Do I pay sales taxes?
o No, unless you are a resident of the state of Washington. The order system will calculate it for you automatically.
What payment method do you accept?
o Credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, checks and money orders.
How to pay with PayPal?
o At the page to input credit card information, select the payment method to be PayPal, then after you submit the order, you will be asked to log into your PayPal account to send money.
How to pay with a check or money order?
o At the page to input credit card information, select the payment method to be PayPal. After you submit the order, ignore the request of PayPal account login and walk away. Send your check and money order to our mailing address. See the top FAQ section to find out our mailing address. Your check or money orders need to be cleared before we start working on your painting. So it is an inefficient way of payment but you have that option.
How much do I need to pay up front?
o By default, you pay the full amount up front. If you prefer, you can authorize only a 10% down payment up front with the remaining balance due after you approve the painting. If you want to do that, please leave a comment on the order stating you only authorized a 10% down payment and your order will be processed accordingly. Either way, you are protected by our 100% money-back guarantee which gives you the option to walk away with a full refund for any reason.
Do you offer installment payment plans?
o Yes. You need to discuss details with our art associate.
Do you accept currencies other than US dollar?
o No. When you order using either a credit card or PayPal, your own currencies will be converted automatically into US dollars by your credit card company or PayPal. You don't need to do anything.
How do I know my order was placed?
o You will see the final page about newsletter subscriptions. If you still see the full detail of your order, you are not done yet. You will receive an automatic email to your email address with the order number in it.
Can you show me a proof before I place an order?
o No. You need to place an order to get the painting started.
Can I cancel my order?
o Yes. You can do it any time you want, even when and after the painting is made. Please take our hard work seriously. If you have any problem with the painting process, please talk to our art associate first. Most likely your issue will be solved. Revisions are a very normal and natural process of making the painting, so if you don't like the painting on the first sight, give us feedback so we can improve it.
Can I change my order?
o Yes. You can change shipping address, contact info and frames while the painting is being made. You can send in additional reference pictures.
o You can not change the painting style, size and main picture
used once the painting starts.
Painting Process
How do you draw my painting?
o We draw each painting individually using the traditional way of free-hand drawing with no computer involved. We look at the picture and draw the painting using pencils or paint brushes one stroke at a time. Watch our videos to see how we do it
http://yourartnow.com/youtube_video.php
What material is my painting drawn on?
o Oil paintings are drawn on canvas
o Watercolor and pencil sketches are drawn on art paper specially made for watercolor and pencil sketches
Do you really draw by hand from scratch?
o Watch our videos to see how we do it. Let the videos speak for themselves.
http://yourartnow.com/youtube_video.php
o We can video record the whole process drawing your painting for a fee.
Can you make two identical copies of the same painting?
o We can make the two copies look so close that you can not tell a difference from a distance. However, since each painting is made by hand individually, even the same artist working on the two copies at the same time can not make them look precisely the same. There will inevitably be tiny differences.
How long does it take to draw my painting?
o Oil paintings take 1-2 weeks while watercolors and pencil sketches take 3-5 days. There are on average one-week waiting period before the painting will be drawn and such waiting period varies by season.
Is there waiting time for my painting to be drawn?
o Yes, it takes about a week on average to start. If you select the Expedition Service, your painting does not need to wait at all.
Can I pick a particular artist to draw my painting?
o If you like any sample on our web site, we will match that artist to do your work. If the artist you select is no longer available to do the work, we will find the artist with the most similar style to do your work.
Can I preview my painting?
o Of course. After the painting is completed, we take a picture of it and email you the proof for your feedback. Then you tell us how you like the painting and if any change is needed. We make the changes and email you the improvement. The feedback process continues until you approve the painting. You are the sole judge on the quality of the work and your own satisfaction. We can make as many revisions as needed to make sure you are completely satisfied.
What if I don't like the painting?
o First of all, it is very natural and normal for you to think something is off or certain aspect of the painting is not exactly what you had in mind. Each painting is made by hand, so it can not be a literal replica of the photograph. More than half of our paintings need revisions after the initial result. So don't worry about it. Just make your feedback as specific as possible, so we know how to change it.
o After repeated attempts to change the painting, if you conclude the painting is beyond improvement, you can ask the painting to be redone or you can always walk away and ask for a refund. You are not obligated to buy anything unless you like what you will get.
What kind of changes can I ask?
o Most minor changes such as adjustments on eyes, nose, mouth, teeth and any other facial features. You can ask changes of coloring, backgrounds, specific items on the clothes, etc.
o Major changes are usually not possible after the painting is completed such as changing the original photo altogether, changing the way the subject is standing, looking and other facial expressions. Changes to a completely different background are not possible either. Our art associate should have discussed with you in details about all these items before we start the painting and communicated with you using image mockups.
How many changes can I ask?
o Unlimited. As many as you wish.
Is that rude to keep asking changes?
o Not at all. Honestly, we love customers who are involved and particular about their paintings. It is your painting to keep, so it is our strong desire to make sure you love it. Consider your feedback as your help to assist us in achieving that goal. Please don't compromise, just ask until you are completely happy. The only thing we ask from you is to be specific and offer constructive suggestions on where to change.
o The following comments are very helpful
"The shape of the eyes is a little off, especially the one on the left."
"The hair color is too blonde, can you darken it a bit"
"Can you add more definition to the teeth? They look too perfect."
"Could you remove the hair flying away?"
"I forgot to ask you to add a flower on her dress, can you do that?"
What if I don't respond to your email?
o We won't send your painting out until you approve it. So if you don't reply our email, we will email you a couple more times followed by a phone call. Check with us if you haven't seen any proof in three weeks.
Why I never got the proof even you said you sent it?
o Sometimes your email account will put the email with an image attached into the trash bin. So please check that place. Emails rarely get lost. Just ask us to send it again if you can't find it.
Who has the final say on approval?
o You, the customer, and only you.
Can I really get a full refund?
o Yes. When we say a full refund, it is 100% of the money you paid with no string attached. There is no restocking fee, no non-refundable deposit and none of the gimmicks some other companies play. Either you receive a painting you love, or you don't need to pay a penny.
Can you take intermediary photos of my painting?
o Yes, and there is a service fee for that. Discuss with our art associate to see how many pictures you need.
Can you video record the painting process?
o Yes, and there is a significant service fee for that. Discuss with our art associate for details.
Will you sign your art work?
o We do not sign unless you request it explicitly.
Shipping
What shipping methods do you use?
o For standard shipping, we use post office first-class mail.
o For express shipping, we use the fastest way possible, which can be USPS Express, DHL, FedEx or UPS.
How are the paintings shipped?
o Unframed paintings are shipped in rigid tubes or envelops.
o Framed paintings are shipped in cushioned boxes.
How soon will my painting be shipped out?
o Oil paintings are wet when initially made, so they need a few days to dry out fully before framing and packaging. Once packaged, it will be sent out the same day.
o Watercolor and pencil sketches will be shipped out the next day you approve it.
How fast can I get the painting?
o Standard shipping takes 1-3 weeks depending on where you live and the timing is not guaranteed and unpredictable on holiday seasons.
o Express shipping takes 3-5 days with a tracking number available.
Do you have a tracking number?
o Only express mails have tracking numbers.
What if the painting gets lost in the mail?
o We will make a new painting for you free of charge. However, you need to wait long enough to file the claim and need to file other necessary forms for insurance claim purposes.
Can I return the painting even after I receive it?
o Yes. You have 7 days to do so. Call us to arrange a mail-back. The painting is always precisely the same of what you have already seen from the picture we took and sent you. But you do have the option to return it if you don't like it.
What if the painting is damaged when I received it?
o We will make an identical painting for you free of charge.
Take a picture of the damaged part and email it to us.
Painting Maintenance
How do I care my oil paintings?
o The biggest enemy for oil paintings is strong sunlight. So avoid placing the painting at the place where strong lights will shine on for a long period of time. If you use the spot lights, use those that minimize impact on paintings.
How do I care my watercolor or pencil sketches?
o The biggest enemy for paintings made on paper is humidity because too much humidity will cause the invisible water steam to go behind the frame and forms a fog either on the frame glass and the sketch itself. So avoid placing the sketch close to the kitchen and bathrooms with showers.
Can I clean my paintings?
o If your frame has glass (usually the watercolor and pencil sketches), you general don't need to clean the painting. For open frames like most oil paintings, over time there will be small dust particles sticking onto the painting. You can use a soft brush to gently brush across the painting to clean it. Usually once a year is good enough. You can find soft brushes in your local framing store.
Will sunlight damage my painting?
o Yes, especially for oil paintings.
Will humid weather damage my painting?
o Yes, especially for paintings on paper. Oil paintings on canvas will be affected much less.
Will hot temperature damage my painting?
o No, unless it is combined with humidity or too much direct sunlight.
